AG Shapiro, PA Largest Gun Show Promoter Reach Agreement to Ban Sale of Ghost Gun Kits

PHILADELPHIA – Attorney General Josh Shapiro today announced, alongside Rep. Amen Brown and Sens. Vincent Hughes and Tony Williams, that Eagle Arms Productions, the largest gun show promoter in Pennsylvania, has halted the sale of 80% receiver kits at its gun shows following two surveillance operations by the Office Of Attorney General (OAG) Gun Violence Task Force. This marks the first gun show promoter in the nation to stop the sale of these unserialized 80% receivers. This comes as the number of ghost guns recovered in Philadelphia is up 152% from 2019-20 and 10,000 recovered nationally in 2019 alone.

AG Shapiro: 4 Arrested, 19 Guns Seized Following Pittsburgh Gun Show Surveillance

HARRISBURG – Attorney General Josh Shapiro today announced the arrest of four individuals for firearm offenses, as well as the seizure of 19 guns, some of which were straw purchased, following a joint surveillance operation with the Monroeville Police Department at the Monroeville Gun Show. The seizures and arrests took place over the weekend of February 6-7, 2021.

HARRISBURG – Attorney General Josh Shapiro today announced the arrests of four Philadelphia men in two separate cases following two surveillance operations at the Morgantown Gun Show in Morgantown, PA from Feb. 27-28, 2021. HARRISBURG – In an important court ruling for Pennsylvania seniors and families who place their trust in nursing homes to care for their loved ones, the Pennsylvania Supreme Court has reversed an appeals court decision and reinstated the Office of Attorney General’s lawsuit against the Golden Living nursing home chain. The Attorney General’s suit alleges the company engaged in deceptive conduct to lure seniors to live in its facilities, and then provided substandard care.

Case Update: Acting Attorney General Michelle Henry Announces Major Step Toward Victory for Consumers – Headstone Businesses Put to Rest

HARRISBURG– Acting Attorney General Michelle Henry today announced a settlement with the gravestone and engraving company “1843 LLC,” and its owners Gregory J. Stefan Sr., Gregory J. Stefan Jr., and Gerard Stefan. According to court documents, the company often failed to deliver gravestones and gravestone engravings in a timely manner, or not at all. The Office of Attorney General entered into an injunction last year regarding the Stefans’ and their business, 1843 LLC, to prevent them from causing consumers additional grief when obtaining a headstone for their deceased loved ones. The Defendants have now agreed to continue the injunction into the future, among other agreements, and this settlement will include restitution to be paid to consumers who were harmed.

CASE UPDATE: Eighth Lackawanna County Prison Employee Charged with Sexual Assault

HARRISBURG — Attorney General Josh Shapiro today announced that an eighth Lackawanna County Prison employee was charged for her role in perpetuating a culture of sexual abuse within the prison. Samantha Heinrich, 36, of Sweet Valley, was today charged with Institutional Sexual Assault. Heinrich, a counselor at the prison, is accused of abusing her authority, propositioning inmates, and engaging in sexual acts with them. The charges stem from recommendations made by a Statewide Investigating Grand Jury.
